Overall Role Objective

The Electrical engineer is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. The Electrical Engineers will be involved in projects from the concept and detail of the design through to implementation, testing and handover.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist with the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue.
  • Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
  • Carry out document control, recording and transmitting information.
  • Liaising and co-ordinating with clients, other members of the design team and contractors on technical issues.
  • Managing all technical queries on site and assist project team in all site electrical engineering issues to include: the management, the planning, the testing and commissioning and the handover of all project systems.
  • Prepare programs using MS project.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects.
  • Assemble bid, approval, and construction issue drawing packages.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the design and change if necessary.
  • Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.
  • Use computers extensively to produce and analyse designs.
  • Generate specifications for parts.
  • Control the efficiency of processes.
  • Supervise technicians and other engineers during development phase.
  • Build, test and modify product prototypes.

Qualifications / Skills

  • An honours degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of at least 1 year (This will change based on level junior/Mid-Level/Senior)
  • Experience in the construction industry would be an advantage.
  • Fluent English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, particularly in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.

We are currently looking for a full-time permanent HV&MV Estimator based in our Waterford head office.

Overall Role Objective

The HV&MV Estimator is responsible for the preparation, submission and management of Electrical/Civil tenders allocated. The main objective of this role is to achieve accurate net costs in accordance with the client’s specification and our subcontract documents.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Accurately quantify material, plant and labour requirements for allocated Electrical/Civil projects.
  • Early engagement and Input in relation to design with our Civil and Electrical design partners.
  • Ensure that for pre-designed projects enquiries relative to the supply of materials, plant and labour are satisfactorily dealt with and that relevant information, contractual and trading particulars are distributed.
  • Undertake the assessment of tender bids from relevant subcontractors and specialists.
  • Prepare project risk register at tender stage.
  • Prepare estimates utilising computer aided systems including input of data, ensuring the Estimating Manual procedures are adhered to throughout.
  • Ensure all tender documents are received as shown on document register.
  • Produce summary sheet and associated documentation and presentation of package for tender adjudication to meet deadlines.
  • Prepare client tender documentation on completion of tender, including production of correspondence on exclusions/variations/extension to tender dates.
  • Attend and contribute at pre-contract meetings and post-tender interviews.
  • In preparation of tenders, attend site surveys and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to tender submission status.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Work safely in accordance with the company’s current health and safety policy and procedures.

  • Minimum three years’ experience in an MV Estimator role or relevant trade qualification and background.

Overall Role Objective

The BIM Manager shall be an expert in BIM and shall be responsible for establishing BIM requirements and workloads across the company, assigning tasks to his/her team as appropriate, tracking timelines and deadlines and ensuring efficiency in BIM tasks within allocated budgets.

  • Establish and implement BIM standards and processes for the company, in liaison with the Technical

  • Provide support information to the Business Development and Contracting teams on expressions of interest and pre-qualification submissions.
  • Identify any design deficiencies and implement proposals/plans to rectify.

Mechanical QA/QC Lead – Midlands Region

We are currently looking for Mechanical QA/QC Lead for our site in the Midlands Region (Portlaoise). You will be expected to deliver Quality Control and Quality Assurance requirements in line with the Company’s overall Standard Operation Policies for QA/QC.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for all mechanical inspections related to installations, testing, commissioning etc. for the involved project.
  • Develop and implement Suir and subcontractors Inspection and Test Plans, Quality Plans and quality procedures.
  • Represent the company as the Lead QA/QC interface with the Client on all aspects of QA/QC for the duration of the project.
  • Conduct inspections of all ongoing activities for mechanical installations.
  • Conduct inspections for all mechanical material deliveries.
  • Attend all mechanical inspections with client/contractor representatives.
  • Submit inspection requests in coordination with concerned site/project engineers.
  • Prepare daily QA/QC report regarding inspections, material, non-conformances etc.
  • Prepare weekly surveillance reports, non-conformance reports and verification of corrective actions.
  • Check the drawings and documents used at site for approvals and compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure that all works are carried out as per the approved method statements and drawings.
  • Ensure that all equipment used are calibrated and with valid certificates.
  • Assist / coordinate the preparation of the final handing over documents such as QCQA documents, testing and commissioning reports etc.
  • Prepare testing and commissioning method statements in coordination with vendors, general contractor representatives and project owner representatives.
  • Ensure the EIDA software system is used as the primary tool for management of the QA/QC process on site.
  • Represent the Company at regular site/off-site meetings.
  • Ensure Supplier/Subcontractor equipment is manufactured in compliance with project requirements
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (both nationally and internationally) as required.
  • Any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested by Management, necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the company.

Qualifications / Experience

  • A relevant Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Trade qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a Quality role.
  • A QA/QC Qualification would be an advantage but not essential.
  • EIDA system/software experience strongly desirable but not essential.
  • IT Skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report preparation.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing to clients and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to delegate and manage team members efficiently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Welding inspection course would be an advantage but not essential. Suir Engineering would forward the proposed person for the Welding Certification course.
