The implementation of a comprehensive health and safety management system is vital to the success of any business.

Accidents and illnesses in the workplace are not only potentially devastating on a personal level but can also have a massively negative impact on businesses. According to the HSE, absences due to ill-health result in excess of one million days lost at work each year.

Our Commitment to Safety

Through our extensive experience in the industry and over 30 years of service to leaders in business, we have secured a reputation for safe, efficient and cost effective engineering services. Thanks to the efforts of our EHS team, we have not only achieved OHSAS 18001 accreditation, but also received a Gold Award at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) 2017 Health & Safety Awards.

Suir Engineering’s Safety Strategy

We are firmly committed to policies and procedures that guarantee the safety of our employees, clients, visitors and contractors. Our proactive approach to health and safety places emphasis on transparency, communication and the continual refinement of procedures and guidelines.

Workplace safety is only possible if every member of an organisation is actively involved in the process.

On a management level, our Board of Directors are responsible for defining general health and safety strategies and for the allocation of funds and resources to essential programmes. They are also involved in enforcing compliance across the organisation. Yet ultimately we see health and safety as a shared responsibility.

We value and trust our employees and motivate them to take an active role in efforts to maintain and improve on workplace safety standards. A key aspect of this process is our provision of offsite training facilities and the distribution of up-to-date briefing documents throughout our organisation.

This ensures that our staff members are able to properly assess their surroundings, identify any potential hazards and promptly report any and all issues to supervisors and dedicated safety personnel.

Through this responsive process, we are able to devise strategies and solutions to newly identified problems and incorporate these improvements into our Integrated Safety Plan.

This ensures that our policies and guidelines are dynamic standards which accurately reflect the diverse conditions, challenges and requirements that we face, without ever compromising on our commitment to providing a safe and secure working environment.
