DC’s For Bees

DC's For Bees - Host in Ireland

Suir Engineering are delighted to take part and support Host in Ireland’s expansion of it’s Dcs For Bees initiative with the launch of the DCs for Bees Pollinator Plan.

The plan is the first of it’s kind for the global Data Centre industry and highlights ways for individuals and businesses to take action in addressing Ireland’s biodiversity plight and to help save Ireland’s declining bee population. This sub initiative aims to bring our industry together in a way that has never been done before.

Suir Engineering and many other companies from this industry are looking to make a difference. This initiative gives us all the opportunity to not only make an individual difference but the tools to educate, advocate, create awareness and take action.  Host In Ireland, Suir Engineering and its data centre industry partners are uniting to make a difference by pledging to deliver on actions to make Ireland more pollinator friendly and ensure the survival of our pollinators for future generations.

As an Ambassador for DCs for Bees we are committed to creating awareness and taking action through our community, work colleagues, friends and family and to take long term action to making a real difference for future generations.

As part of Host in Ireland’s “1000 Orchard Challenge” to plant 1,000 orchards in the next planting season, we have donated over 20 Orchard Trees and look forward to getting more involved with the program as it develops further.

Suir Wellbeing Launch

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Suir Wellbeing program which officially launched in early February. The aim of the initiative is to get our people connected, feeling strong and positive with simple actions you can do in your everyday life to feel good and function well.

At Suir Engineering it’s about understanding that we all have mental health to take care of, and like our bodies, our mind sometimes needs encouragement and help from others.

Suir Wellbeing focuses on FIVE main themes including CONNECT, BE ACTIVE TAKE NOTICE, KEEP LEARNING and GIVE while also delivering a strong message to employee’s on our Employee Assistance Program.

We have seen a huge uptake from employee’s and have so far enjoyed  many events including; Wellbeing Webinars from Dr. Mark Rowe on living with vitality, CEO Regina Mangan on women working in construction and we have also organised a successful virtual 5k challenge  for Pieta House.

Our wellbeing committee will continue to deliver important messages and events to the Suir Engineering team while utilising social media and what’s app groups to spread their feel good initiatives.

If you would like to find out more about our program, please visit our dedicated Suir Wellbeing webpage here.
