Jason Murphy
4th Year Electrical Apprentice
I recently completed my 4 years as an Apprentice. Looking back, I started with Suir Engineering as a General Operative and was given the opportunity to become an Apprentice Electrician. I have just completed my 4 years with Solas and look forward to the many opportunities ahead. Suir Engineering have supported me and encouraged my development – to give back I help mentor the newer Apprentices that have recently joined Suir.
My day to day job includes installing new systems in Pharmaceutical plants e.g. Fire Alarms, Distribution Boards, Motors etc. I also do Retrofits i.e. bring systems up to date in older plants. Every day is a new challenge with different tasks and learning experiences with new systems. I also enjoy passing on knowledge to new Apprentices. Suir are always finding new ways of working while keeping quality and safety at the forefront. There is opportunity for growth within the company.

Dave Flanagan
Project Director
Suir Engineering have given me the opportunity to grow internally and promoted me through the business. In addition to the formal training and workshops received, I was very fortunate to receive a lot of valuable mentoring. I found that colleagues and management within the company were always very generous with their time and offered a lot of support to me at each level of my career.
I began my career as an apprentice with Suir Engineering. As an apprentice I worked on leading Pharmaceutical plants and Data Centre’s. Once I qualified from my apprenticeship I moved on with my career and was promoted to a supervisor. I was also supported in several courses I undertook internally and externally to the company. I then moved onto be a Construction Manager followed by Project Manager on the top Pharmaceutical projects in Ireland. Recently I was promoted to Project Director – I believe this reflects Suir Engineering ambition to attract, retain and develop its best people – it cares about its people, its number one asset.
