Orchards in the Community

Suir Engineering are proud to be part of the DCs For Bees “1000 ‘Orchards In The Community” Initiative by Host in Ireland.

 As part of Host in Ireland’s initiative to plant 1000 Orchard Trees in Ireland this planting season, we have donated and helped to plant approximately 60 Orchard Trees in our local communities. Suir Engineering is part of 52 pledgers and collectively we have donated to over 90 schools and community groups planting in excess of 1,000 mixed fruit orchards all over Ireland.

The initiative aims to;

– Encourage biodiversity

– Protect and feed pollinators
– Provide a means for organisation and community purpose-based activity which will foster an appreciation of and awareness for protecting and encouraging biodiverse habitats in our local areas.

The orchards that we have planted are one of more than 1000 orchards across the country that will bring huge life support to our bees and other pollinators as they emerge searching for food each Spring.

We are delighted to have donated our trees to both community groups and a collection of schools in the South East including, The Solas Cancer Support Centre, East Waterford Beekeepers Association, Cahir Tidy Towns, Blackwater Tidy Towns, Mullinahone Tidy Towns, Kilmacow National School and Coláiste Cois Siúire.
