We are calling on all companies, organisations and individuals working in construction to get behind and involved in Construction Safety Week 2022. Safety Week is an important initiative to celebrate best practice, to reinforce and promote the importance of safety, health, and overall wellbeing at work and in life.  

Construction Safety Week is an initiative of the CIF Safety and Health Subcommittees, which two of our EHS employees Colum Costello (Group EHS Manager) and Aoife Gilheany (Regional EHS Manager) form part of. The national awareness campaign aimed at promoting positive safety and health amongst Ireland’s 159,000+ construction workers, clients and industry stakeholders. The goal is to generate engagement amongst CIF members and non-members alike, to further promote a culture of safety, health and wellbeing in construction.

This year, the campaign will run over the entire month of October but at a pace that allows for more engagement, and staggered scheduling of activities. The focus will be on supporting the Lighthouse Club’s ‘Help Inside the Hardhat’ campaign in the first week (from 10th October), followed by 5-days’ focus on site safety, spread over two weeks (17th – 28th October).
