Project Description:The project was driven by a need to upgrade the existing infrastructure to meet the needs of Keppel Data Centres for the next 15yrs+. Works are designed and planned to replace legacy and inefficient M&E systems and to offer enhanced availability. Works were conducted in a live data centre environment.

The main elements of the works include MV Upgrade; LV Upgrade; Generator and Associated Fuel Transfer system; Cooling Upgrade; UPS Upgrade; BMS Upgrade; Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Upgrade; and Building & Ancillary works associated with the above upgrades

Project Description:Project ARN51 in Katrineholm, Sweden consists of a Data Centre Building approximately 14,000M2 and will utilise 34MW of power at full capacity.

Suir Engineering were responsible for:

Supply & installation of general contractor services (including but not limited to external civils works, external enclosures, fencing, structrual steel, cladding, wall erection, fireproofing, plastering, painting, ironmongery), mechanical services (including but not limited to AHU, ventilation, air conditioning, water services, humidified water, general drainage), electrical services (including but not limited to BMS services, commissioning, fire alarm, security services, hot aisle containment install, rack install, busbar install, general power & lighting, external lighting services, MV cable works, substation works), sprinkler services & security services

Global Switch Amsterdam is the largest commercial data centre in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam facility provides a secure and resilient IT space. To maximise protection, it features durable and diverse power and cooling systems, the latest fire and security protection and N+1 provisioning on critical services.

Suir Engineering carried out the electrical fit out services to the new data centres for these mission-critical facilities.

  • This incorporated the complete design, installation and commissioning of the LV and MV electrical installation for the web hosting facilities .
  • Design, co-ordination and production of drawings
  • Installation of all cableways under raised floor, (ie) tray, basket, and
  • fibre guides
  • Installation of UPS main distribution boards and LV distribution boards
  • Installation of all power cables and communications cabling to comms cabinets,
  • lighting and general services

They are dedicated to helping their clients innovate and succeed through the end-to-end transformation of their business models and the application of innovative technology and business solutions.

Suir Engineering was tasked with a new project in the IBM complex in Damastown Ind Estate, Dublin. The work scope was to change part of the Old Building 5 into a data support centre.

This company is a fast paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centres. The company’s infrastructure consists of various custom built and off-the-shelf applications operating on a variety of platforms including Linux systems, Oracle databases, Cisco networks, and other major technologies.

These projects involved electrical, controls and HV distribution installation works; mechanical works associated with the site services, shell and core and fit out, as well as 110kV AIS substation installation for our client across three of their data-hub facilities in Dublin.
